What is Diwali
Diwali symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is marked on the darkest night (new moon) in the year. Diwali is derived from the word “Deepavali,” which means “a row of lights.” Indians celebrate the festival with light rows of traditional clay oil lamps or candles outside their homes to symbolize the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.
